Welcome to the apology tour! I’m so behind on reviews that I think every review I publish for quite a while will start with, “Sorry it took so long to get here!” Although, I don’t know if anyone needs a review for this oracle deck, but here we go.
At this point, it’s a given that when you pair author Deborah Blake with artist Elisabeth Alba any deck they create is a delight and the “Everyday Witch’s Familiars Oracle” is no exception. You might expect this 40-card deck to just be a random smattering of animals, but you would be mistaken. The cards are categorized as Earth, Wind, Fire, Air, and Spirit. For instance, Dog is Earth, Raven is Air, Cat is Fire, Koi is Water, and Spirit contains Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Sphinx. The accompanying guidebook explores the different relationships we have with animals. It’s that exploration that leads to the variety of ways the deck can be used. Each card has a message to share and a divinatory meaning, another featuring that adds flexibility in how you can use the deck.
There is an abundance of animal-based decks available, but the diversity found in the “Everyday Witch’s Familiars Oracle” makes it perfect for anyone with a love of animals!
