Seven Goddesses of the Hellenistic World

At this point it is no secret that I am a sucker for goddesses. Offer me a book about any goddess and I’m all in. So, it should surprise no one that I was thrilled to receive a review copy of “Seven Goddesses of the Hellenistic World: Ancient Worship for Modern Times” by Jo Graham.

Graham displays an in-depth knowledge of religion and the history of religious worship, with an innate sensitivity to multiple cultures. From the introduction, “In this book, you meet seven of the great goddesses of the ancient world, specifically the universal goddesses widely worshipped in the Hellenistic world between 320 BCE and approximately 200 CE.” Who the seven universal goddesses Graham discusses? Tyche, Isis, Athena, Atargatis, Epona, Aphrodite, and Cybele. “Seven Goddesses of the Hellenistic World” features the classic stories of the deities, meditations, rites, associations, altar ideas and more.

If you’re like me, a fan of the divine feminine, I highly recommend checking out “Seven Goddess of the Hellenistic World” by Jo Graham.
