Long time readers of The Magical Buffet know there are two things you can count on every October, Banned Books Week and Think Before You Pink. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the organization Breast Cancer Action and their annual Think Before You Pink campaign, here a basic description from their website, “Think Before You Pink\u00ae launched in 2002 in response to the growing concern about the number of pink ribbon products on the market. The ground-breaking campaign calls for more transparency and accountability by companies that take part in breast cancer fundraising, and encourages consumers to ask critical questions about pink ribbon promotions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, instead of focusing on corporate accountability, the Think Before You Pink campaign is Going Rogue. I was hoping this meant we were going to overrun stores and trash all the useless pink ribbon merchandise, but alas, it less physically active. This October Breast Cancer Action is exploring and educating the politics of breast cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
