Okay occult nerds, open up your wallets because the holiday season is rapidly approaching and today, I have the first of at least two high end, luxury items that my fellow magical enthusiasts will surely want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May I direct your attention to \u201cThe Sword of Song: Called by Christians The Book of the Beast\u201d by Aleister Crowley and edited by Richard Kaczynski. In 1904 Crowley published only 100 copies of this text, but Kaczynski researched all existing draft manuscripts and examined previously unpublished margin notes from Crowley\u2019s personal copy to present Crowley\u2019s preferred text for \u201cThe Sword of Song.\u201d Filled with essays, poetry, and fiction, Kaczynski shows this work as a prototype for the later work to come from Crowley. This edition is fully annotated, with an in-depth introduction explaining certain references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all the effort Kaczynski put into curating and editing \u201cThe Sword of Song,\u201d Inner Traditions put in equal effort in presenting the work. This edition of \u201cThe Sword of Song\u201d is a 464-page hardcover book, with an attractive hard cardboard slipcover and built in ribbon bookmark. FYI, since I\u2019m always curious, the book is still stunning without the jacket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the greater landscape of required Aleister Crowley reading, is \u201cThe Sword of Song\u201d necessary? No. However, for devoted Crowley acolytes, those looking for perhaps a better understanding of \u201cthe Beast,\u201d and occult scholars\/nerds, this is a pricey, but worthwhile purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
