Almost every instructional thing (book, video, etc.) about learning and practicing magic always stresses the importance of keeping a diary. It should surprise no one that I\u2019ve never done so. This website is the closest thing to a journal I have, and it\u2019s safe to say it is incomplete. Thankfully, Carl Abrahamsson has been doing the work and thanks to Inner Traditions we can read it in his book \u201cMeetings with Remarkable Magicians: Life in the Occult Underground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s hard to write a book like \u201cRemarkable Magicians\u201d and not sound like a narcist or like you\u2019re humble bragging. Fortunately, Abrahamsson writes in a personal, yet matter of fact voice. This book illustrates one way a life that prioritizes magical pursuits and creativity can be experienced. With it, you can track a unique branch of European magic as it evolves starting in 1984 to today. Along the way Abrahamsson interacts and\/or collaborates with magicians of note, as well as some you may have never heard of but greatly influenced the author and perhaps magical society at large. Abrahamsson collects memberships and titles of assorted magical traditions, but then eschews them for his own path. Never salacious, but always candid, there is much anyone interested in magic can learn from this book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether Sweden or Nepal, LaVay or Anger, TOPY or Golden Dawn, anyone interested in magic can gain insight from \u201cMeetings with Remarkable Magicians\u201d by Carl Abrahamsson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
