Another year of not getting sued by Oprah for attempting to usurp her brand! And also, a time to reflect on my favorite things that got featured on The Magical Buffet website this past year. Real talk, with the website issues I had mid-year not nearly as much content was shared on The Magical Buffet this year. Hopefully, 2024 will be a productive year here at The Buffet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here, in particular order, are my top ten favorite things of 2023!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tales &amp; Legends of the Devil: The Many Guises of the Primal Shapeshifter by Claude &amp; Corinne Lecouteux <\/strong>&#8211; Let\u2019s just get this one out of the way, everyone knows I love Claude Lecouteux, so if he has a new book, it will appear on this list. I just wrote my review, so you can read it <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/12\/06\/tales-legends-of-the-devil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Book of Cocktail Ratios: The Surprising Simplicity of Classic Cocktails by Michael Ruhlman<\/strong> \u2013 It is no secret that I am a lady that loves a cocktail, and this book managed to get me excited about making and drinking cocktails all over again! You can read my review <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/09\/13\/the-book-of-cocktail-ratios\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Evil Eye: The History, Mystery, and Magic of the Quiet Curse by Antonio Pagliarulo<\/strong> \u2013 This book is an amazing wealth of information about multicultural folk magic centered on the infamous evil eye. Read my review <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/07\/12\/the-evil-eye\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Eloquence of Silence: Surprising Wisdom in Tales of Emptiness by Thomas Moore<\/strong> \u2013 A fascinating exploration of emptiness that highlights the beauty and humor that can be found there. Loaded with essays exploring a variety of magical tid bits, this is not be missed! Read my review <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/05\/27\/source-magic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Uncertain Places: Essays on Occult &amp; Experiences by Mitch Horowitz<\/strong> \u2013 This book gathers Horowitz\u2019s writings from all over the internet and puts them in one enjoyable read. Check out my review <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/03\/13\/uncertain-places\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Witches Almanac: Sorcerers, Witches and Magic from Ancient Rome to the Digital Age by Charles Christian<\/strong> \u2013 This book is a who\u2019s who of those who practice magic. A wonderful resource. You can read my review <a href=\"https:\/\/themagicalbuffet.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/2023\/01\/30\/the-witches-almanac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Witches of World War II by Paul Cornell with art by Valeria Burzo<\/strong> \u2013 This graphic novel takes a band of notable magic makers on a fantastical wartime journey filled with intrigue, heroics, a cameo from Winston Churchill, and Valiente punching a Nazi.
