According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barrymanilow.com\/\"target=\"_blank\">Manilow\u2019s website<\/a>, \u201cThe Greatest Songs of the Eighties uncovers a bounty of treasures and reignites nostalgia for these fantastic hit songs reinterpreted by Manilow in his signature style &#8211;   from his duet with Reba McEntire on \u201cIslands in the Stream,\u201d as they pay homage to Kenny Rogers &#038; Dolly Parton\u2019s #1 duet of 1983 \u2013 to a trio of songs associated with memorable films: Phil Collins #1 hit of 1984, \u201cAgainst All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)\u201d; Bill Medley &#038; Jennifer Warnes\u2019 #1 hit of 1987, \u201cI&#8217;ve Had the Time of My Life\u201d (from Dirty Dancing); and Christopher Cross\u2019 Oscar-winning #1 hit of 1981, \u201cArthur&#8217;s Theme (The Best That You Can Do),\u201d and much more.<\/p>\n<p>The Greatest Songs of the Eighties moves seamlessly through a selection of major hits from both sides of the Atlantic. That\u2019s right, I said passion.  I love that song!  I\u2019ll be intrigued to hear Manilow\u2019s other covers.  I\u2019d like to think he\u2019d rock out on \u201cOpen Arms\u201d and \u201cAgainst All Odds\u201d.  If any of you hear those, let me know how they sound.  What I really want to know is, why no album of original songs?
