Oh, to have the heart of Cindy in such profound print so that we can read it over and over. Such a marvelous present that you have shared this insight with us. I remember this essay when you first wrote it. I loved the message then and even more so now. You are such a gifted teacher…reminding us to be the best of ourselves.

Perhaps the great conundrum of world peace is that it needs a world where people are willing to die for things, but not willing to kill for them.

An interesting self-look is the question “Under what circumstances do I feel the taking of someone’s life is appropriate?”, there is the barrier (for good or ill) of universal peace.

Cindy you for voicing your truth… I know that the world is entering a tipping point where your personal truth will be a norm…I feel that we are given, as humans, all the wrong choices to challenge us to reject them and to encourage us to choose peace and the one world paradigm because it is our best reality…so soldier would fight against true enemies and not to secure the interest of a few billionaires…

Well I’m sorry I sounded grumpy and I did’t get hate from that essay at all. And I love the fact that you love peace and actually want it. But who doesn’t? And everyone speaks of peace yet they don’t do anything about it.

And my previous comment does sound a bit depressing and mean and I’m sorry about that. But I just want to tell it how it is.
As a Muslim its difficult for me to see my brothers and sisters in Muslim countries being oppressed. Its difficult for me to see their blood being shed everyday on the news.
And it was even more difficult for me when I learnt that Osama bin Laden was killed. And the reactions of the Americans as they partied away was horrible. Did they forget, as they were partying away, about the more than 100000 civilians who had to die?

Islam is all about peace and so I am at peace within myself. Islam has always taught me to never lose hope and to always have faith.

I’m still a teenager and seeing my brothers and sisters dying everyday is very difficult for me.
But I have hope. Hope that things will change. That justice will be done in the correct way. A time will come when people will stop oppressing Muslims if God wills. For now I will pray and hold on to my faith and the truth. That’s what helps to bring peace inside me.

Striving for peace is a difficult thing. I know I struggle with the same issues. You logically know what war is, and you know how horrible it is, but yet there is this emotional response when something happens that sometimes gets the best of you.

I think your experience will be relevant to a lot of people. Nice article.

I will happily fly my PACE flag on the back of my chair for you! 🙂 Thank you for teaching so much. Also, in response to “F” I don’t know where you got hate from this essay at all. As someone who talks about Peace you sound pretty grumpy to me. That’s just my
opinion.
