Though I must admit I don’t understand how simplicity takes away options. I view it quite the opposite. I never feel more straight-jacketed as when a game has lots of so-called “options”. It’s a list you can rarely if ever break out of. When there is none, the sky’s the limit.

Great post, here, Rich. I see where you’re coming from, but I find that as long as people running (and playing) the game are trying to have fun above all else, the system has hardly mattered.

But, then again, I’m kind of known for running games just smiling behind my screen, pretending to roll dice and never once opening a book if I can help it 🙂
