Yeah people are reading it. However, just because you write an article saying people must change how they feel about a symbol doesn’t mean we have to agree. I understand the history of the swastika, but I still feel it is a Nazi symbol. I’m not going to suddenly change how I feel about it just because someone blogged the pre-Nazi history of it.

I feel the same way about the southern flag. Some people insist it is just a historic symbol and doesn’t mean anything. It will always be a symbol of hate to me. I’m sorry, I’m very open minded in most regards, but I’m not going to change how I view these symbols. No amount of research, no amount of talking will change my gut reaction to those symbols.

I read the website 🙂 TmZ rocks, I love that show, although I think that the swastika is becoming less a boogyman and more a idol that is mocked – at least with the people I hang out with. I’m an eighth Jew and half German so I get lots of Nazi jokes about self-hatred 🙂

TMZ is a great example of America’s current pathetic “Anything but Iraq” media culture, where gossip is treated like news and celeberty public mental breakdowns, child neglect, and open alchoholism are treated as entertainment. Frankly I’m surprised that anyone there even knew what a swastika was (“Hey, his boards got the same design on it as the bad guy from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK! Cool!), let alone the complex history of the symbol.

People’s ignorance never cease’s to amaze me, everything has to fit into a certain box, and if its out of its box so to say,they can only respond with ignorance because it might actually take some time to research something, to educate one’s self.
