I have been saying the same thing for 40 years! Organized religions exist, as do bureaucracies, for the continuance and aggrandizement of the organization.
That is not to say there are not ‘good’ people who are a part of such organizations -I have known and still meet many sincere Christians and folks of other faiths who do their best to actually practice what has been preached to them.
The honest truth is that those people would live their lives that way if their Church overnight became a Pagan Temple.
“Goodness” is not a quality ‘owned’ by any one religious group; your ministry is ample proof of that. Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for sharing; I couldn’t agree more! I am an non-religious ordained minister and work as a spiritual consultant and counselor. I believe that everyone has the right to their own free will and their own spiritual journey without the effects of any particular religious beliefs or laws that I should push onto those I help. You wouldn’t believe how many emails I have received from other “religious leaders” telling me that I should not condone beliefs other than Christianity. By not supporting Christianity, they say I am sentencing people to hell because they don’t believe correctly. Well, I get just as fired up as you about this, and I have to say that I couldn’t have said it better. Spirituality is based on your own personal level of growth; it is internal and has nothing to do with religion. I believe that religion can have its place as it does good in some places, but how often will a religion help if you don’t believe in their specific faith or cause? Not often.
