o, and "Another problem with modern Wicca for some is the so-called “Wiccan rede” (“An it harm none do what you will”). This tenet has been used as an excuse to behave in self-centered ways that no tribal society would tolerate."

any person can use any religion, without exception, to justify their own behaviours. a true understanding of the wiccan rede is to understand that purely selfish behaviours are in fact harmful to the self and others - - there is a reason that it hasn't been changed to "do what you want as long as it doesn't harm anyone" -- - the emphasis is on *do no harm*

it isn't that i feel defensive on these points; it's just that they are being represented completely incorrectly.

i enjoyed reading this article and found a lot to be garnered from it. however, the idea that wicca and/or witchcraft believes that all goddesses are one goddess etc. is categorically untrue. there are modern witches that embrace that philosophy but not all do. and amongst those that do - even if all goddesses are one goddess - each representation is a different aspect of the goddess/god and it always matters which you call upon in ritual. i don't know a single witch that would say otherwise.
