I can’t believe it’s already time for the November issue! Seriously, where did October go and how come December
seems so close? Soon the holiday season will be upon us, December is a huge month! Christmas, Hannukah,
Kwanzaa, Yule, Eid al Adha, and I’m sure there’s more. As usual, you’ll be pleased to know that I’m ignoring all of
that as we prepare for December’s issue of The Magical Buffet. Theme issues are the nemesis of our magazine and
I have yet to feel inclined to do one. So, forget the holidays and stay tuned for next month’s issue!
I do want to take a moment to get my sentimental groove on and mention that next week is Thanksgiving. As most of
you reading this know, I’m super grateful to have the support of my readers. Sometimes I deserve it, and other times
I don’t. Despite that, you guys always are ready with it, and that’s pretty damn cool. I’m also thankful that I have an
awesome husband who says things like, “You realize this is awesome, right?” every time he looks over one of my
many blogs, book reviews, and articles.
I recently wrote a brief entry in Especiales de la Cocina (our blog) about reevaluating what it means to have a
holiday tradition. How there is no “right” way to celebrate Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter. Well, I would
like to conclude with the fact that I’m thankful that rushing around to do the November and December issues are now
a part of our holiday tradition.
I would write more, but I’ve got groceries to buy, gifts to purchase, and a December issue to put together!
Best Wishes,
Rebecca

The Make Up of a Buru
What’s fun about cryptozoology are the lists of “What is the creature, really?” This month it has: is it a lizard? Is it a
crocodile? Is it a lungfish?! For me, and cryptozoology fans, it’s a buru. Click Here for More
